The practice is accepting new referrals for worker’s compensation cases, but is currently full for all clinical/self-pay referrals. Please check back in the upcoming weeks/months for availability.

Please note that when the practice is closed to clinical/self-pay referrals, we may not be able to respond to all new inquiries.

Information for New Patients

Most of Dr. Richardson’s patients are referred to the practice from medical providers. After receiving the initial referral or inquiry, we will set up a free 20 minute consultation call if there are current openings in the practice. If the patient’s presenting problems fit the scope of the practice, we then schedule an intake session to discuss treatment goals and create a plan. If it appears that a patient’s presenting concerns are outside Dr. Richardson’s treatment focus, we will help provide alternate referrals.

Cancellation Policy and Fees

We ask that patients provide 48 hours notice whenever possible to cancel or reschedule a session so that slot may be offered to another patient. To help minimize cancellations and no-shows, we use a text and email reminder system to notify patients of upcoming appointments. An automated phone call reminder is also available if patients prefer. If less than 24 hours notice is given, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee except in cases of uncontrollable circumstances and health-related emergencies.

Current Availability

Dr. Richardson’s practice is often full and we are unable to guarantee when openings may arise. If there is no current availability, you are welcome to leave your name and number to be contacted in the future should availability change. Unfortunately we are unable to respond to all inquiries when the practice is full.

Good Faith Estimate

New federal laws stipulate that health care providers need to give clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychological services. You have the right to ask for and receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services at any time during treatment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
